Which is the better under- eye concealer? MAC Studio Finish Vs MAC Prolongwear

These concealers are two of the best i have tried thus far, however, i do have a favourite, particularly for hiding my under eye circles. As you can see the Studio Finish concealer is a thick, creamy consistency which i find works best when applied with your fingertips- allowing easy blending as the warmth will melt the initially dry solid state. For this reason i feel the studio finish has a greater lasting power and has better coverage due to being slightly thicker. The Prolongwear concealer on the other hand is a liquid consistency, which many people prefer for under the eye application, however, i find it difficult to get the coverage i want and when i layer it it can look quite, dare i say it, caky. I also find i need to apply it with a brush due to the runny consistency- something i find quite tedious to do, especially in the mornings. For this reason, i can declare the MAC Studio Finish to be the winner of the best under eye concealer (Its also 50p cheaper!)

Dr Andrew WEIL for Origins Mega- Mushroom Skin Relief Set!

I purchased this amazing gift set in John Lewis during the post- christmas sales for only £36! Which is an absolute bargain considering the face serum (which is full size by the way) retails for a whopping £58! Not only was the price attractive, but also the fact that i have heard only good from this skincare range, and let me tell you it has certainly done good on my skin. Each product is a pleasure to use, perhaps its because i like the planty, medicinal scent it gives off, but also because i have noticed a drastic improvement in my skin complexion as well as texture. Prior to using these products, i suffered from small spots all over my face, not acne but irritating nevertheless as in daylight especially, they would stand out. After only 3 days of use, my skin felt baby soft and in daylight i noticed many of the small pimples disappeared, YES! My favourite products of the set has to be the Soothing Face Cream and the Advanced Face Serum, i apply the thicker cream at night after using the cleanser and toner as it is thick in texture, injecting my face with moisture as i sleep, the serum is perfect for mornings as a base for my foundation. Needless to say, i will be re-purchasing the two creams after i run out, despite the hefty price tag! The Cleanser and Toner, although nice to use, i feel can be easily replaced by an equally good cheaper alternative.

Thank you Dr Andrew Weil, you have saved my skin!!

Battle of the Micellar Waters!

Although many are smitten already with the Bioderma Micellar Cleansing Water, (as was I)  I thought it was important to provide a review as well as comparison with the Garnier version. Firstly the most significant difference between the two cleansers is their price. The Bioderma varies in retail price as it is not sold in the major drugstore chains currently in the UK, however, for the 500ml bottle it ranges between £13- £16. The Garnier water is currently sold at both Boots and Superdrug for £5.99, however, i purchased mine at the steal price of £2.99 from my local Savers. Evidently, despite the Garnier water being slightly smaller (400ml), it is the clear winner regarding how much product you get for your money. However, i should mention that this is not just about quantity, but quality. After trying both products out day and night, for the last several weeks, i have noticed the much loved Bioderma was not as gentle as made out as i felt a stinging sensation in my eyes, i thought i was having a reaction! which was rather unpleasant as i bought it specifically for its highly acclaimed status for the gentle removal of eye makeup. As a result, i went back to using my Garnier Simply Essential 2 in 1 Makeup Remover, and used the Bioderma for the rest of my face. The Garnier water however, did not cause a reaction, and for me is identical in the way it removes your makeup. All in all, i recommend the Garnier water as it is not only drastically cheaper, but more available, doesn't cause irritatation, and removes makeup the same, if not better as the Bioderma cleanser.

Move over Bioderma, i predict the Garnier Micellar Water to be the new cult product!

IKEA ALEX Make-up unit!

IKEA Alex Drawer Unit - £85

So i finally followed the craze over the Ikea Alex drawer unit that many bloggers and youtuber's possess and i have to say i can understand the hype. This drawer is amazing for make- up storage, which is primarily what i use it for, however, the 9 drawers mean that there is plently of space, in my case, for other pampering items such as body lotions, hair care and even books! the top 5 drawers are shallower which is best for makeup as it's easier to identify your products. i have also used the top to display my perfumes which are positioned on a candle plate (also purchased from Ikea). A full make- up collection will be up soon, once i get the products organised in the drawers - something i am still yet to accomplish ;)

SATC Prequel - The Carrie Diaries Book and TV Series!

'Before there was sex, before there was the city, there was just me: Carrie. Carrie Bradshaw.'

So i have been obsessed with the Carrie Diaries books and New TV series!! Portrayed by the beautiful Anna Sophia Robb, it shows Carrie Bradshaw's (Sex and the City) life prior to SATC during her junior year of high school in the 80s, when she was younger, living in Connecticut and was madly in love with the big bold city of New York! I won't give too much away but it's definitely worth a watch :)

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick in Number 14

With flash

This is one of my newest purchases and it has already become a favourite of mine, so much so that i am wearing this bright coral on a daily basis! It is such a beautiful hue, the perfect spring lip shade in my opinion. I tend to gravitate mostly to coral and orange lipsticks as a pose to cool toned pinks as i feel they compliment my skin tone more however this lipstick i feel can be worn by every skin tone and still look amazing! :)
